Rural Homestay is a breakthrough project for eco-tourism, contributing to promoting tourism development in Tan Hoa commune (about 70km northwest from Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park).
Rural Homestay is a unique weather-adaptive lodging model sponsored by Oxalis. It was built based on flood-resistant floating houses of households in Tan Hoa according to a non-refundable sponsorship agreement between Oxalis and the homeowners, for locals to engage in business partnerships with Oxalis.
Each homestay offers spacious rooms equipped with all the necessary amenities. This provides guests an unparalleled opportunity to experience local life on a floating house while admiring the breathtaking natural scenery visible only during flood days.
Guests at the homestay are provided with breakfast and free services at Tu Lan Lodge, which Tu Lan Lodge directly manages. Also, guests have many activities to participate in such as exploring the Tu Lan cave, taking an ATV off-road tour to discover the Tan Hoa Lim forest, cycling to explore corn fields, visiting villages, and experiencing local dinner services to understand better the culture and life of the people in the region known as the “flood-prone region”.
The introduction of weather-adapted accommodation and tourism activities in Tan Hoa will contribute to overcoming seasonality due to local weather in each flood season; at the same time, promote the potential and enhance the community’s participation in tourism activities.
