Ca Mau Province: Shrimp Festival is held every three years, Crab Festival and OCOP products are held annually

The Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee has issued an official dispatch directing provincial departments, branches and sectors; People’s Committees of districts and Ca Mau city on organizing the Ca Mau Crab Festival and Shrimp Festival.

The Crab Festival and OCOP products event is held once a year

On July 17, 2024, at the Provincial Party Standing Committee Conference, after listening to the Provincial People’s Committee’s Party Committee’s proposal to periodically organize the Crab Festival and OCOP products, Ca Mau Shrimp Festival, the Provincial Party Standing Committee agreed on the policy of organizing the Shrimp Festival every three years; the Crab Festival and OCOP products event to be organized once a year (in case it coincides with the year of organizing the Shrimp Festival, the 2 above events will be organized together).

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee in Notice No. 836-TB-TU dated July 18, 2024, the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee in Official Dispatch No. 515-CV/BCSĐ dated July 23, 2024 on the policy of organizing the event of Crab Festival and OCOP products, Ca Mau Shrimp Festival, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, according to the assigned functions and tasks, to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, localities and units to urgently review, research, advise and propose the Provincial People’s Committee to organize the above events. In particular, urgently complete the Project to organize events, submit to competent authorities for appraisal and approval according to regulations; develop reports to the Prime Minister and relevant ministries, branches and central agencies on the time to organize events; develop and issue a public awareness plan so that all people know and participate in events and other related issues.

Provincial departments, branches and sectors; People’s Committees of districts and cities of Ca Mau and related units closely coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to implement the above contents; proactively review and research contents related to the sectors, fields and localities under their management, to coordinate and advise on the organization of events. In the process of implementation, if there are any difficulties or problems beyond their authority, promptly report and advise the Provincial People’s Committee for consideration and decision.
