Hon Quan district has a lot of areas adjacent to the lake beds of large hydropower and irrigational projects. This place still retains quite an intact natural landscape. The favor of nature and the fresh and cool climate of the large lake has attracted many people to come, relax, have a rest, and gradually they have become destinations at weekends or holidays, or New Year celebrations.

Huynh Khanh Giang, Development Director of Phu Gia Farm, said: “Thanks to its wonderful green coverage, recently many tourists have come to ask for camping, and I let them feel free to do it. Considering that it is possible to provide tourism services, Phu Gia Farm boldly applied for a mechanism and opened this tourist spot. The farm’s orientation is to invest in eco-tourism combined with resort services. When visitors come to the resort, they also experience green agricultural products, which is also the strength of the farm.”

With the 1,000-meter road adjacent to the surface of Srok Phu Mieng hydroelectric lake, visitors can comfortably watch and check in with clouds, sky, and immense water surface from many different angles. This tourist destination has been invested in internal roads, canteens, and other works to serve visitors. Vu Van Tinh, the owner of Thanh Tung Tourist, said: We will invest in more resorts, upgrade restaurants and make more play areas for children and several flower gardens to enrich the landscape, in line with current tourism trends.

Typical tourism products

Hon Quan district has many historical and cultural relics recognized by all levels. Among them is the Victory Site Tau O Blocking Post relic, recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism as a national historical relic in 2012. This place marks the heroic fighting days of the Vietnamese army and people to protect and maintain the liberated area during the 1972 Nguyen Hue Campaign. Today, this relic is a destination for veterans throughout the country who return here to visit the former battlefields and it is also a place to educate young generations the revolutionary tradition.

Along with historical relics, Hon Quan district also has the Cau bong festival (praying for plants to bloom) in Tan Khai communal house and the buffalo fighting festival held every year at the communal house that have become a traditionally cultural feature of the local people.

To develop tourism, some localities in Hon Quan district have established and maintained many gong teams and restored and preserved gong dances, ethnic dances, and brocade weaving groups… Initially, typical tourism products have been formed to serve tourists every time they have the opportunity to visit Hon Quan. “Preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, the gong team regularly practices to perform and entertain visitors. In addition, we have a brocade-weaving group of ethnic minorities. In the coming time, whhen we can develop tours to bring visitors here, we will build a showroom of brocade products as souvenirs for guests,” –  Le Tien Chuc, Secretary of Bu Dinh hamlet, Thanh An commune, said.

The Hon Quan district has established two tourist sites licensed to operate by the provincial government. Tourist attractions are introducing their products to visitors, and they are very impressed with the diverse wild natural landscape, trees, and rivers here. Along with the support and management of the State in tourism, we encourage businesses to continue to invest and upgrade facilities and attractive services to attract tourists to the Hon Quan district.
