The upstream of the O Lau River (Ham Heo), a new eco-tourism site

The eco-tourism site located at the upstream of the O Lau River (Ham Heo) is over 50km to the north west of Hue city, and 10km to the south west of Phong Dien district center. To reach this destination, visitors should go along national road 1A, take the left turn to No. 9 road and travel around 10km. At the upstream of the O Lau River (Ham Heo) locates an eco-tourism site where visitors have a chance to experience local culture, admire wild streams and waterfalls. This place is also ideal for going camping and having a picnic at weekend.

Ham Heo (Phong My commune) – the upstream of the O Lau River is the latest eco-tourism site introduced in Phong My commune, Phong Dien district. There is a slow-moving stream amid the forest which is relatively safe to everyone. This destination is gifted with crystal clear water, fresh air and green trees. A large lake is formed at the largest part of the stream. Rows of bamboos and reeds reflected on the crystal water surface. The wild and mysterious landscape would immediately win visitors’ hearts. As the lake is not very deep, simple resting places are set up. In addition to swimming, visitors may fall in love with delicious dishes made from local simple materials by Pa Hy ethnic group such as grilled chicken, wild banana flower, snail, fish, black sticky rice, etc. Visitors have a chance to enjoy the crystal clear stream and local dishes at O Lau River’s upstream. Its scenery and rustic cuisine attracted a large number of visitors, particularly the young.
