Exploring Chu Thap Rock Field in Dong Nai: A Natural Masterpiece Amid a Sea of Green Rice Fields

(TITC) – Hidden in the vast rice fields of Dinh Quan District (Dong Nai Province), Chu Thap Rock Field is one of the most unique destinations in Southeast Vietnam. The site captivates visitors not only with its strange rock formations but also with its pristine, peaceful beauty – a place where one seems to touch an ancient fragment of the earth itself.

“A rock field rising from a sea of rice” – an unparalleled beauty

Setting foot in Chu Thap Rock Field feels like stepping onto another planet. In the middle of endless paddies, massive reddish-brown stone blocks rise like the backbones of giant creatures that have slept for millions of years. What makes this place especially distinctive – and earns it the name Chu Thap (“Cross”), is the way the stones are naturally stacked and spread in two perpendicular directions, forming a giant “plus sign” carved by nature onto the ground.

Under the soft afternoon sun, the field glows with a magical interplay of colors – the endless green of young rice contrasting with the solemn tones of ancient rock. This striking scene has long enchanted photographers and adventure travelers who come here in search of the perfect shot.

A Gentle but Emotional Trekking Experience

The path leading to the rock field is a simple dirt trail winding through the rice paddies and weaving past scattered boulders. The journey is not difficult, making it suitable for families, groups of young explorers, or anyone longing to reconnect with nature.

Here, visitors can climb onto the higher rocks to enjoy panoramic views of the boundless fields, take memorable photos, or simply sit quietly, listening to the wind sweeping through the paddies – a chance to hear one’s own heart after the busy rhythms of daily life. Every step across the ancient stone surface feels like a walk deeper into geological history and the timeless beauty of nature.

Beyond its fascinating landscape, the area around Chu Thap Rock Field also offers an authentic glimpse into the rural culture of Dong Nai. Gentle farmers tending their crops, children playing joyfully in the fields, and the aroma of a countryside meal with braised fish and vegetable soup, all of these leave travelers with simple yet profound memories.

From here, visitors can easily combine their trip with nearby attractions such as Voi Mountain, Tri An Lake, and Da Han Waterfall. Farmstays and homestays scattered along the forest edge also provide cozy, locally inspired accommodations, perfect for those seeking a light, nature-filled getaway.

A Place of Connection

More than a scenic spot, Chu Thap Rock Field is a reminder of humanity’s connection with the land and sky. In an age where concrete and technology increasingly dominate our living spaces, a journey back to the rocks, the rice, and the wind is a way to slow down and rediscover authenticity.

Chu Thap is not only a natural wonder but also an invitation – a call to experience stillness, simplicity, and the eternal dialogue between people and nature.
