Mr. Pham Minh Vong, Manager of My Khanh Tourist Village (335 Lo Vong Cung, My Khanh commune, Phong Dien rural district), said: “During the summer, we build a number of new products and programs to attract tourists, including incentive programs for students. Some products currently attracting tourists are rainbow sliding mats and teambuilding games, in which fruit gardens also account for a large number of visitors. Here, we have 7 hectares of specialty fruits, such as rambutan, durian, longan, baccaurea racemosa, mangosteen,… Guests who come here can freely pick fruits and enjoy them at the garden”. Ms. Tran Thi Tam, a tourist from Thanh Hoa, said: “This was the first time we came to Can Tho and we chose Phong Dien because we knew there were many fruit orchards. I really enjoy coming here because I can freely pick fruit and eat fresh fruit on the spot, which is great. The garden here is very cool and I can pick as much as I want to eat, very comfortable”.

Similarly, Tuan Tuong eco-tourism garden, belonging to Hai Thin Cooperative (Nhon Loc 1A hamlet, Phong Dien town) also focuses on expanding and linking the garden to attract tourists. Mr. Tran Van Thin, Chairman of Hai Thin Cooperative, said: “Currently, Tuan Tuong eco-tourism garden in the fruit season, such as baccaurea racemosa, mangosteen… tourists coming here love to pick fruit on the spot. For about 2-3 weeks, the number of visitors to the garden has increased. Visitors come here to visit the orchard and paddle boating, catch shrimp and fish,…or experience and enjoy folk cakes”. Accordingly, in preparation for the summer, Tuan Tuong eco-tourism garden also has a number of special programs such as eating pancakes every Wednesday or preferential programs for student groups so that they can have a fun and rewarding summer experience.

Phi Yen orchard (Nguyen Van Cu street, Nhon Loc 1, Phong Dien town) is also a favorite weekend destination for many local tourists. Mr. Ngo Trong Phu, owner of Phi Yen orchard, said: “The number of visitors to the fruit garden usually increases on weekends. At here we aim at ecology, so the garden is a perennial tree with priority care to create a cool space to attract visitors to relax and pick fruits. Currently, the garden is in the season of longan and baccaurea racemosa”. Accordingly, when coming to Phi Yen orchard, visitors can visit the garden, experience the ancient folk cakes buffet with more than 10 types of folk cakes and row boats in the canals.

At this time, many ecological gardens in Phong Dien are attracting many tourists, especially on weekends. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha, a tourist from Hanoi, said: “Western fruits are very delicious and sweet.
