(TITC) – On 7th December, Mr. Nguyen Van Xang – representative of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) in Khanh Hoa, said that Asia Book of Records has announced 10 new Asian Records for Vietnamese cuisine and specialty gifts according to the criteria set for Asian Cuisine and Specialty Records in 2023., including Ninh Hoa grilled pork rolls (Khanh Hoa).

5 dishes are Asian specialties
including: Saigon Banh mi (Ho Chi Minh City), mussel rice (Thua Thien Hue),
Phan Thiet hotpot (Binh Thuan), Ninh Hoa grilled pork rolls (Khanh Hoa), rice
noodle soup – A type of soup made from a blend of fish sauce, lemongrass, and
ngải bún (a root similar to turmeric, but smaller and in darker yellow), eat
with Snakehead fish, roasted pork (Soc Trang).
5 natural specialties and gift
specialties include: Vong Village rice nuggets (Ha Noi); dried sweet potato
(Quang Binh), sesame candy (Thua Thien Hue), Da Lat strawberry (Lam Dong), Tra
Cuon banh tet (cake contains ingredients: sticky rice, fatty meat, peeled green beans, and all
wrapped in round shape by banana leaves) (Tra Vinh). It is expected that the
Asian Record Certificate will be authorised by the Asia Book of Records for
VietKings to award to localities on the occasion of the 53rd Reunion of Vietnam
Record Holders (expected to take place on 6th January 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City)
or Localities can receive Records in locally organised events.
From 2012 to present, Asia Book of
Records has recognized the set of 60 Vietnamese culinary specialties and gifts
as reaching an Asian record (including 38 specialty dishes, 22 natural
specialties and local gift specialties). Khanh Hoa has 1 dish and 1 specialty
recognised as Asian records, which are Ninh Hoa Grilled pork rolls and Bird’s
Nest.
In 2022, 7 types – Vietnamese food
group recognised by Asia Book of Records: Neem tree salad (An Giang), Phu Quoc
herring salad (Kien Giang), U Minh fish sauce hotpot (Ca Mau), lotus dishes
(Dong Thap), dishes from Notopteridae fish (Hau Giang), dishes from ocean tuna
(Phu Yen), dishes from coconut (Ben Tre); 4 Vietnamese specialties established
by the Asian Book of Records: Ly Son garlic (Quang Ngai), Lo Ren Vinh Kim star
apple (Tien Giang), bird’s nest (Khanh Hoa), Phu Quoc rose myrtle wine (Kien
Giang).
