(TITC) – Asia Book of Records has just officially decided to establish 10 new Asian Records for Vietnamese cuisine and specialty gifts according to the criteria set for Asian Cuisine and Specialty Records in 2023.

This is the 4th time, the Asia Book
of Records announced new Asian Records for Vietnamese cuisine and specialties
after 2012, 2013 and 2022 with the nomination of the Vietnam Records
Organization (VietKings). The Record List aims to promote and honour culinary
specialties and gifts of countries in the continent, and as a suggestion for
international tourists to enjoy these dishes on their upcoming trips.
In the latest list, Vietnam has 10
Asian Records, divided equally into two categories: Specialties and Natural
specialties and gift specialties.
5 dishes are Asian specialties
including: Saigon Banh mi (Ho Chi Minh City), mussel rice (Thua Thien Hue),
Phan Thiet hotpot (Binh Thuan), Ninh Hoa grilled pork rolls (Khanh Hoa), rice
noodle soup – A type of soup made from a blend of fish sauce, lemongrass, and
ngải bún (a root similar to turmeric, but smaller and in darker yellow), eat
with Snakehead fish, roasted pork (Soc Trang).
5 natural specialties and gift
specialties include: Vong Village rice nuggets (Ha Noi); dried sweet potato
(Quang Binh), sesame candy (Thua Thien Hue), Da Lat strawberry (Lam Dong), Tra
Cuon banh tet (cake contains ingredients: sticky rice, fatty meat, peeled green beans, and all
wrapped in round shape by banana leaves) (Tra Vinh).
It is expected that the Asian Record
Certificate will be authorised by the Asia Book of Records for VietKings to
award to localities on the occasion of the 53rd Reunion of Vietnam Record
Holders (expected to take place on 6th January 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City) or
Localities can receive Records in locally organised events.
VietKings said that in the coming
time, it will continue to nominate outstanding values of Vietnam in many other
fields, in order to comprehensively promote the image of the country and people
of Vietnam to friends around the world.
