(TITC) – Hung Yen still preserves more than 500 traditional festivals and hundreds of craft villages and many OCOP specialties and products. Hung Yen is known as the longan capital of the country, with an area of nearly 5,000 hectares. During the harvest season, in addition to selling longans to traders, gardeners also develop sightseeing and experiential tourism. The opening of gardeners has contributed to bringing Hung Yen longans closer to domestic and foreign consumers.
From those resources, a number of
localities in the province have begun to nurture models of investing in
agricultural farms combined with sightseeing, photography, and purchasing
agricultural products. Typical flower and ornamental plant villages in communes:
Xuan Quan, Phung Cong, Me So (Van Giang district); Nam Nghia Trai medicinal
village in Tan Quang commune (Van Lam district); Da Loc longan cooperative (An
Thi district)…
Ms. Mai Thi Tuoi, resident of Trac
Dien village (Da Loc commune, An Thi district) is happy that her longan garden
has more income from tourism. There are 130 longan trees, mainly planted with
the Huong Chi longan variety. This longan variety is a low tree, with wide
spreading branches, lush round canopy, when ripe the fruit has thick pulp,
juicy, small seeds, thin skin, beautiful appearance. Since the tree is low,
visitors can stand on the ground to pick fruit and take pictures. Visitors can
visit the longan garden and many neighbouring gardeners to learn about the
production process, enjoy ripe longan fruits, take photos, and buy longan as
gifts, said Ms. Mai Thi Tuoi.
Currently, many tourists love the
agricultural and rural tourism model because it is affordable, allows them to
relax, immerse themselves in a fresh, peaceful space, and enjoy fresh delicious
fruits right in the garden and bought as gifts for friends, relatives…
Mr. Ta Huu Chien – Director of
Sunvina Travel Company said, in addition to exploiting existing values well,
Hung Yen province should also consider creating typical products for tourists
to buy and take home. For example, with the Dong Tao chicken raising model,
visitors can directly learn about the process of raising chickens, experience,
and make hygienic products from Dong Tao chicken, instead of just visiting. In
the coming time, Hung Yen needs to prioritise focusing investment resources on
the spatial organisation of tourist areas and destinations; synchronise
infrastructure and complete facilities for tourism; Build points and centres to
display, introduce and sell agricultural products.
