Happy and peaceful
Ven village in Xuan Luong commune, Yen The district welcomed me with a strangely peaceful atmosphere. In spring, the atmosphere here becomes even quiet, but still evokes the cheerful features of a livable countryside.

Ban Ven has up to 95% of the population being San Chay ethnic people (Cao Lan group) who know how to take advantage of nature and culture to form a unique tourism product called “Returning to the village”.
Coming to Ven village is “coming back to the village” in the true sense as visitors can immerse themselves in the space of ancient communal house, pagoda and well and thousand-year-old ironwood trees.
The communal house of the Cao Lan people was built according to the curved roof architecture with tiled roofs and a frame carved with traditional patterns. The Ven village culture and ecotourism product was recognised as a three-star OCOP (One Commune Once Product) product, opening up a promising direction for sustainable development.
Coming to Ven village is also coming home, where travelers can rest under a stilt house, enjoy a meal with the pure taste of countryside, pick green tea leaves to make a drink, or stay in the kitchen with the people here to cook a meal with Yen The hill chicken, fish and clean vegetables.
Visiting Ninh Son “quan ho commune” (Viet Yen district), I also had a feeling of peace, but peace here is associated with the excitement and vitality of a famous quan ho countryside. Ninh Son commune has four quan ho villages that are actively teaching the folk art to the descendants, promoting the heritage values of their ancestors, and building a rich and beautiful homeland.
Sweet fruit seasons
Yen Dung district is famous for its fragrant rice varieties, surrounded by Cau and Thuong rivers. It seems that the silt of these famous rivers has deposited into flowers and fruits, creating bountiful harvests.
Rural areas in Quang Tien commune, Tan Yen district are clean and beautiful
When learning about the OCOP programme, we became even more convinced that the scent of the earth, the love of the rivers and hard-working hands have brought about seasons of sweet, fragrant fruits and high quality agricultural products.
Yen Dung has 22 products recognised as meeting OCOP standards. Its OCOP products have been become popular, showing the district’s right steps in economic development and new-style rural area building.
Since the new-style rural area building programme started, Yen Dung people have been eager to donate their workdays, money and land to build their homeland together. As a result, many village roads and alleys that were previously narrow and muddy have now become beautiful flower roads. The district has also strived to build model rural communes and villages.
Viet Yen district had planned to develop 10 model rural villages by 2023. Implementing the direction of the standing board of the district Party Committee, communes registered 19 additional model rural villages, bringing the total number of model villages implemented in 2023 to 29.
Continuing the task of economic development and improving the criteria for building new-style rural areas, the district People’s Committee has issued a plan to implement the digital transformation programme in new-style rural area building, towards smart new-style rural areas in the district during the 2023-2025 period. The district targets that by 2025, over 85% of district-level dossiers and 65% of commune-level ones will be processed online.
New-style rural area building aims to improve both material and spiritual life for the people, giving a facelift to rural areas. People are proud of and happy with the sweet and fragrant fruit and flower seasons and prosperous springs. And more than that, they are willing to continue cultivating fruitful seasons in every livable countryside.
