Mu Cang Chai – Yen Bai: Optimises advantages to promote tourism

Mu Cang Chai district welcomes more than 360,000 visitors in 2023

The district has focused on developing tourism in a professional and modern orientation in a “green, unique, safe, and friendly” way. It has also paid attention to diversifying potential tourism products, promoting socialisation, and attracting investment resources for tourism development while maximising the potential and advantages of the nature, culture and indigenous people.

Notably, in 2023, the district successfully organised many tourist and cultural activities to attract visitors, including a ceremony to announce the decision and award a certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mong’sKhen art and the art of using beeswax to create patterns on fabric of the Mong people in Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau, Van Chan districts, the MongKhen performance festival, and To Day (forest peach) Flower Festival 2023.

Besides, the district has actively promoted unique local destinations such as the special national scenic spot Mu Cang Chai Rice Terrace fields – one of world’s 20 most colorful places; KhauPha paragliding spot – one of the four beautiful flying spots in the country and the world’s 10 most beautiful flying spot.

Mu Cang Chai has a great attraction from its natural landscape, culture and people, especially the majestic and poetic sceneries all year round, including the ripe rice season on terraced fields and Spring with colourful flowers which blanket mountains and forests in the whole area as well as the unique cultural identity of the Mong ethnic people./.
