35 products and product sets chosen
After many months of consideration, the typical rural agricultural product selecting council at the provincial level has submitted to the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to issue a decision to recognize 35 typical rural agricultural products at the provincial level in 2023, including 4 products of Cam Ranh City, 2 sets of products of Cam Lam District, 2 products of Khanh Son District, 1 product of Khanh Vinh District, 7 products and product sets of Dien Khanh District, 5 sets of products of Ninh Hoa Town, 6 products of Van Ninh District, product sets and 8 products and product sets of Nha Trang City. Outstanding products honored this year include the Tri Tin seaweed product set of Tri Tin Co., Ltd. (Ninh Hoa town), the mixed food product set for shrimp larvae of the Hai Than Production-Trade-Service Limited Company(Cam Ranh City) and Boracay sofa of Nam Hai Company Limited (Dien Khanh District). The agricultural industry products have high sales and large markets; and the producers attract many workers.

Nguyen Sanh Duong – Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade affirmed that the election of typical rural agricultural products in the province in 2023 will not only help state management agencies discover and honor valuable and potential products to prioritize support for production development and trade promotion for rural industry establishments to be granted certificates of typical rural industry products from provincial and national industrial promotion funds, but also as an opportunity for establishments to promote trade connections, expand markets, learn management experience, improve competitiveness, contribute to increasing income and creating jobs for workers in rural areas. At the same time, product votes are a great motivation for rural industry production facilities to be more active in designing models, improving technology, lowering product costs, expanding production scale, and creating many products with high economic value to serve domestic production and consumption needs as well as export. Many highly aesthetic products imbued with local and regional cultural identities serve tourism development, contributing to further increasing the value of the province’s industry, actively creating jobs and improving income for workers in rural areas, contributing to completing important targets of the province’s new rural construction program.
Opportunity to promote and enhance value of products
From 2012 – 2022, Khanh Hoa has organized 5 rounds of voting for typical agricultural products from district to provincial level. Thereby, the province has 321 typical products at district level and 186 typical products at provincial level. The province has also implemented 33 projects to support products selected at the provincial, regional and national levels to invest in expanding production and applying advanced machinery and equipment in production stages; support participation in exhibitions, conferences connecting supply and demand, industries… Typical agricultural industry products as well as typical products of have been strengthened introduction, promotion, support for trade promotion, and trade connections through exhibitions and introductions at typical agricultural product fairs across the country and region…

In 2023, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with relevant units to organize and participate in exhibition booths displaying agricultural products and typical products of the province at events and conferences held in the province and across the country. In addition, the department also regularly provides in-depth training on sales on e-commerce platforms and social networks; propagate and disseminate to raise awareness of e-commerce for production and business units in the province…
Le Huu Hoang – Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province assessed that the recognition of typical agricultural products has helped establishments expand their consumption markets, and some establishments have put their products to supermarkets. Then, its has increased the average revenue of establishments, contributed to creating jobs and creating stable income for local workers, increased the value of industrial production, contributed to increasing the state’s budget revenue. In the coming time, the Provincial People’s Committee requests the provincial Department of Industry and Trade to increase incentives for businesses to develop and apply smart processing and manufacturing industries to create a breakthrough in new production capacity associated with science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; promote activities to support the application of advanced machinery and equipment, apply new technology to produce new products; invest to improve industrial production efficiency in terms of scale, productivity, product quality and corporate governance through national and local industrial promotion programs.
