Can Tho: Establish a connection between OCOP products and tourism

Located on the route with many famous tourist attractions of Phong Dien, such as My Khanh Tourist Village, Ong De Eco-Tourism Village, Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery… Giot Phu Sa becomes a suitable stopover for tourists on their journey to explore Phong Dien district. Coming into operation in August 2022, Giot Phu Sa Hi-tech Agricultural Cooperative is a place for visitors to experience the Cordyceps production process and try out some Cordyceps products produced by the cooperative.

The Cordyceps of Giot Phu Sa are produced organically. Its production process is strictly monitored to ensure quality. Mr. Pham Ngoc Da, Director of Giot Phu Sa High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative, said: “Usually, Cordyceps growers use clean rice, distilled water, and a number of nutrients, including silkworm pupa. However, I have replaced distilled water with coconut water and fresh milk (both pasteurized). Cordyceps Mushrooms, therefore, grow well and are very nutritious.” The raw materials used to produce Cordyceps are of clear origin and carefully supervised to ensure safety. The cooperative has worked with a number of farmers in Dong Thap to ensure the source of organically grown rice for growing Cordyceps, and cooperated with silkworm pupae farmers in Da Lat to have fresh and high-quality silkworm pupae… These materials are all pasteurized.

Currently, Giot Phu Sa Hi-tech Agricultural Cooperative produces many products from Cordyceps, such as Freeze Dried Cordyceps Militaris, ginseng tea bags of Agrimush Cordyceps, Agrimush essential oil, and Cordyceps with honey, Cordyceps drink, etc. In specific, Freeze Dried Cordyceps Militaris has achieved a certificate as a 4-star OCOP product of Can Tho city. These products have all been introduced and promoted in exhibitions and trade fairs inside and outside the city. Accordingly, Giot Phu Sa Hi-tech Agricultural Cooperative has also cooperated with many partners from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Mekong Delta provinces… Currently, the cooperative has also used QR codes in traceability, in order to make information transparent to distributors and consumers.

 “The opening of the Giot Phu Sa Hi-tech Agricultural Cooperative aims to promote and introduce OCOP products to many customers, especially tourists”, Mr. Pham Ngoc Da added. At Giot Phu Sa Hi-tech Agricultural Cooperative, tourists can visit some production processes and study the origin of Cordyceps. Currently, the business is embellishing its facility and building some more green trees, and flower gardens for tourists. Moreover, visitors can try many nutritious dishes from Cordyceps such as Cordyceps salad, cordyceps porridge…
