A large number of high-quality agricultural specialties are on display at AgroViet 2023
On display across nearly 200 booths were One Commune, One Product (OCOP) products and typical high-value processed products of localities from Vietnam, as well as farm produce by international businesses from China, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Australia, Russia, and several ASEAN countries.
Addressing the event, Nguyen Minh Tien, director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Centre for Agriculture, emphasised that the fair has been designed to help expand economic cooperation and provide an ideal venue for businesses and cooperatives to fully tap into the domestic and foreign markets.
Ho Ngoc Yen, head of Service Consulting and Trade Promotion Department under the Vinh Long province’s Agricultural Technical Service Center, said apart from a number of four-star OCOP products such as pomelos and oranges, the province has also introduced plenty of products made from Japanese sweet potatoes grown in Binh Tan district.
She expressed hope that firms and cooperatives in the locality would secure long-term cooperation contracts with domestic and foreign businesses participating at the fair.
Meanwhile, Park Ki Woo, general director of GAIA International Vina Co., Ltd. from the RoK, revealed that the company has introduced a processing line of fruit and vegetables in the hope that it can fully meet the requirements for classifying fruits for local businesses.
The new technology is expected to help reduce workforce and improve the overall quality of Vietnamese agricultural products before exporting, he added.
AgroViet 2023 is scheduled to run through to September 17.
