Agricultural tourism – a leverage for rural development in Binh Dinh

(TITC) – In recent years, the tourism industry in Binh Dinh has developed strongly. The province determines agricultural tourism as a leverage for new rural development.

Binh Dinh develops agricultural tourism based on the potential and advantages of agricultural tourism products in northern and western of the province. For example, Go Loi tea and green-skin grapefruit area in Hoai An district; Tam Quan coconut forest in Hoai Nhon town; giant squash village in Phu My district; ethnic villages, valleys of terraced fields, myrtle hills in An Lao district; clean vegetable garden and peach garden in Vinh Thanh district; safe vegetable area along the Kon River in Tay Son district…

According to Mr. Tran Van Phuc, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province is using investment resources on developing tourism to become a key economic sector, promoting the development of high-tech agriculture associated with the formation of tourism value chain and new rural construction in the period 2021-2025.

In particular, the completed transportation infrastructure system in Binh Dinh will create favorable conditions for the development of agricultural tourism in traditional craft villages, farms, and ecological zones. Agricultural tourism is identified by Binh Dinh as a driving force for the progress of building sustainable new rural areas. Agricultural tourism not only contributes to transforming the economic structure and expanding product output, but also preserves rural cultural values or the value of specific commodity brands.
