Da Nang’s first tourism OCOP product
Since its operation at the end of April, 2023, the Banarita Glamping Farm eco-tourism area combined with agricultural development is one of the first pilot models according to Resolution No. 82/2021/NQ-HDND dated December 17, 2021 adopted by the Da Nang People’s Council.
The main foundation of the model is to develop agriculture through growing fruit trees and preserving landscapes and green spaces, minimising concrete and construction to serve people and tourists.
Covering an area of 5 hectares, this eco-tourism area creates jobs for nearly 25 workers who are locals and those from other localities.
On average, each month, the Banarita Glamping Farm welcomes 2,000-3,000 visitors, most of whom are residents in the city, tourists and student groups coming to experience and participate in extracurricular activities.
Accordingly, visitors experience a variety of activities such as taking care of pets, growing fruit trees, camping, connecting and enjoying fresh air.
Mr. Le Thanh Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Members of Banarita Trading Investment and Services Co., Ltd. said that the above-mentioned recognition is an honor for businesses developing ecotourism. This is a guideline for businesses to implement development strategies, preserve and promote the values and requirements of the OCOP programme and become a typical tourism OCOP model.
The business will continue to make efforts to bring customers the best experiences, spreading more strongly the eco-tourism brand of Hoa Vang and Da Nang as a whole.
According to Mr. Tuan, being aware of this community tourism model, the company always focuses on implementing solutions to maximize community.
In the Banarita Glamping Farm tourist area, a booth will be arranged to display, introduce and sell OCOP products, typical of Hoa Vang District and Da Nang in general. “Hopefully Banarita Glamping Farm will become a typical eco-tourism model, creating a highlight attracting tourists and taking advantage of the potential of eco-tourism in Da Nang and leaving a mark on Viet Nam’s eco-tourism map.”, said Mr. Tuan.

Promote model effectiveness
According to the Hoa Vang District People’s Committee, the development of rural agricultural tourism has been identified by the district as one of the important solutions and driving forces to promote sustainable new rural construction.
This is a new direction in rural economic development, gradually shifting from agricultural production to agricultural economy in the direction of multi-sectorial integration, promoting cultural, ecological and rural landscape advantages, contributing to economic development, creating jobs and increasing income for people.
Vice Chairman of Hoa Vang District People’s Committee Phan Duy Anh said that the district will continue to review and guide entities to develop the tourism OCOP product group, improve the quality of services and products, advise on brands and designs to develop travel gifts.
At the same time, attention will be paid to promoting products to domestic and international tourists, developing good-quality, diverse tourism products that are suitable for local culture and natural ecological conditions, with high experiential and added value.
In order to effectively exploit and utilize the potential of this product group, the district will strengthen the connection between OCOP products and tourism, replicate effective operating models, product introduction and promotion points to tourists and develope a system of highly interconnected products.
According to Director of the Da Nang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Dang Huy, developing tourism OCOP products is one of the city’s orientations in exploiting the potential and advantages of the OCOP programme associated with serving community-based tourism and eco-tourism.
In an attempt to achieve the goal of having at least 2 tourism OCOP products by 2025, the Department has coordinated with relevant agencies to survey and evaluate the potential and prospects of tourism facilities according to the OCOP tourism product criteria set and support them to participate in the OCOP programme.
Based on the first recognized tourism OCOP product, the city will continue to enhance the quality of service activities at tourism OCOP locations, effectively spread the program associated with agricultural economic development.
Another task is to support the chain of regional linkage activities in developing tourism OCOP products, promote community values and attach traditional cultural values of the locality to OCOP tourism entities.
