Speaking at the event, Mr. Van Ba Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province said that Quang Nam has many potential to promote rural agricultural tourism to serve as satellites for two world cultural heritage sites of Hoi An and My Son.
Quang Nam province has issued and implemented many plans to develop agricultural tourism and recorded many positive results. In particular, many quality agricultural, ecological, cultural tourism products have been exploited in a methodical and oriented manner, well received by domestic and foreign tourists.
Agricultural and rural tourism products in Quang Nam can be mentioned as Tra Que vegetable village, Thanh Ha pottery village, Bay Mau coconut forest, Cam Kim community tourism village, Cui Lu village (Hoi An); Loc Yen Ancient Village (Tien Phuoc), Old Brick Kiln tourist site (Duy Xuyen)… Some places are also being formed to welcome visitors: Muong Village (Bac Tra My), Cua Khe community tourism village (Thang Binh), Cam Phu community tourism village (Dien Ban)…
Agricultural and rural tourism has contributed to creating jobs, promoting economic restructuring, increasing labor productivity in rural areas, and increasing income for rural workers. Developing tourism in rural areas also contributes to preserving, promoting and spreading unique cultural and natural values and protecting the environment.
“However, agricultural and rural tourism in Quang Nam still does not really deep developed. Most products only meet the needs of sightseeing and experiencing at a simple level. Links between travel businesses and destinations is still weak. Training for people working in tourism has not been given due attention. One of the major barriers is policies and procedures on agricultural land for tourism development still has difficulties” – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Van Ba Son commented.
According to Mr. Pham Thanh Tung – Deputy Director of the Institute of Agricultural Tourism Economics, agricultural tours need to carefully perfect prepare before promoting and communicating. Avoid disappointing visitors.
