Recently, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program has been widely deployed in all localities in Phu Tho province, creating products with good quality and beautiful designs, produced under good practice and quality control processes. The province also paid much concern in promoting and introducing products to increase the spread of the province’s unique OCOP products.
The entire province currently has 237 products evaluated and classified as OCOP products, including 1 product with 5-star rating, 54 products with 4-star rating, 182 products with 3-star rating. OCOP standardized products are increasingly being replicated. Promoting connectivity, consumption, and wide distribution of products on the market are emphasized, creating motivation for entities to actively invest in expanding scale and developing diverse products.
To create a pervasive effect and bring OCOP products closer to consumers, departments and branches in the province have coordinated to set up over 10 points of selling and introducing OCOP products including: Fresh food, processed food, handicraft products… ensuring origin and quality in accordance with the recognized product criteria. The sales points are based in locations with convenient traffic, many passersby, many tourists, and densely populated residential areas, convenient for exchanging goods.
Put into operation since April 2022, the OCOP product display and introduction point on Tran Phu Street, Gia Cam Ward, Viet Tri City has increasingly increased the number of items with nearly 400 different products, of which over 70% are provincial products, meeting OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher such as: Thanh Son sour meat, Phu Tho tea, Ga Gay My Lung sticky rice, Hung Lo rice noodles, Bo village soy sauce, pickled cassava vegetables…
Facing changes in shopping trends, OCOP products are not only developed purely through traditional channels but also through modern distribution systems such as: Co.opmart Supermarket, Winmart and the network of convience stores, clean and organic product stores in the province. In addition, OCOP products are also available on many e-commerce platforms so that consumers can purchase more conveniently.
Mr. Dang Viet Phuong – Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: In the coming time, in order for the province’s OCOP products to be widely known and consumed, the Department will continue to promote trade connection, promotion, and consumption of OCOP products associated with tourism and local culinary activities; continue to maintain and develop established distribution channels and promote multi-channel sales for recognized OCOP products. At the same time, improve the capacity of entities in digital transformation, information technology application, and e-commerce in introducing, promoting, trading, and consuming products, thereby improving the effectiveness of the Program, spreading OCOP products, creating jobs and stable income for people.
