Located in the northern gateway of Hanoi capital, Dong Anh District has long history and cultural tradition, the characteristics of the Red River civilization, with 124 national and municipal-level monuments; intangible cultural heritage such as music, dance, puppetry, festivals, traditional villages, diverse agricultural and rural products. These are great potentials to create tourism products.
Van Ha Commune has a wood carving profession for hundreds of years. Van Ha wood craft is preserved and developed with high quality and diverse designs. Currently, Van Ha has 31 wooden handicraft products recognized as 3-star and 4-star OCOP products, which are very convenient for the development of traditional craft village tourism.
Mr. Bui Duc Thuan – Deputy Chief of Office of Hanoi Department of Tourism hoped Dong Anh district, including the fine wood craft village in Van Ha Commune will become one of the key craft villages of Hanoi in the period of 2025 – 2030.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Long introduced the benefits of tourism, discussed product development, and guided service skills for people, sellers and service providers at tourist spots in Van Ha commune with the goal of promoting the development of traditional craft village tourism, associated with new rural development. Within the framework of the conference, the delegation of Hanoi Department of Tourism visited wooden handicraft production facilities in Van Ha Commune.
