Da Lat: Set a record for “100 delicious dishes from Artichoke”

(TITC) – On 19th September, at Arapang Restaurant (TTC World Tourist Area – Love Valley, Da Lat), Lam Dong Provincial Professional Chefs Association (Lamdong ProChefs) organised a cooking and performance contest to set a record of “100 delicious dishes from Da Lat artichokes”.

Giving his remarks, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Hường, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Professional Chefs Association, said the processing and performance contest to set a record of “100 delicious dishes from Da Lat artichokes” is an event in a series of tourism activities celebrating the 130th anniversary of Da Lat’s formation and development; contributing to turning Da Lat agricultural products, including artichoke – a precious medicinal herb, into delicious, attractive dishes, contributing to positioning and elevating Da Lat’s culinary brand, improving understanding of the uses of Da Lat artichoke to a large number of people and tourists. This is also an opportunity to connect, share, jointly develop the skills of chefs nationwide in promoting the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine.

After the direct appraisal period at the event, Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) recorded the number of 146 dishes performed and processed directly from Da Lat artichoke plants reaching the number as registered, helping the Lam Dong Provincial Professional Chefs Association set a new record “The largest event of processing and performing dishes from Da Lat artichoke at the same time in Vietnam”.

The contest also awarded 7 prize categories to 17 teams with delicious, creative, and beautifully presented dishes from Da Lat artichokes.

This is a meaningful activity that contributes to promoting Da Lat artichoke – one of the most typical medicinal products of Lam Dong province; at the same time, it is an opportunity to introduce, create and add delicious and unique dishes from Da Lat artichokes to contemporary cuisine, as well as find and exchange between talented kitchens across the country, attracts tourists interested in the unique culinary highlights of Lam Dong locality in particular, and of Vietnam in general.

This is the second time the Lam Dong Professional Kitchen Association has established a Vietnamese record. The contest has gathered many professional chefs across the country to participate in creating dishes, creating a prestigious event for the Lam Dong Professional Chef brand.
