Promoting Gia Lai tourism potential at Kbang Tourism Festival

(TITC) – From 4th to 6th August, Kbang district, Gia Lai province, the 4th Kbang Tourism Festival 2023 took place to introduce the potential and advantages of tourism development and the traditional cultural and artistic values of the ethnic groups living in the area.

This year’s tourism festival includes a series of diverse programmes such as: Agricultural and food product fair with a scale of 148 booths introducing herbal products, products harvested under the forest canopy, and fruits grown on Kbang land; booths displaying handicrafts bearing the bold culture of ethnic groups living in districts and cities of Gia Lai province and neighbouring localities…

Within the framework of the event, there are also cultural, sports and tourism activities such as: folk games, statue carving competitions, knitting, brocade weaving; gong performance, traditional musical instrument performance; exchange of traditional art forms such as folk songs, folk dance…Notably, the Festival also restored festivals in two community tourism villages: “Thanksgiving” in Stor resistance village and “New Rice Celebration” in Mo Hra-Dap village.

 

In addition, visitors can sign up for a tour to explore the majestic K50 waterfall, Bat Cave waterfall, the historical and cultural relic site “Revolutionary Base Zone 10”; experience life with the Bahnar people in the tourist villages of Stor, Mo Hra – Dap village, and Kon Bong village.

At the Opening Ceremony of the 4th Kbang Tourism Festival 2023, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of Kbang District People’s Committee said, the district not only has many beautiful natural landscapes but is also rich in cultural identity and revolutionary traditions. In addition to historical sites such as: Stor resistance village – Hero Nup’s hometown, some historical relics in Tay Son Thuong Dao such as: Jackfruit Garden, Co Hau Field, the province’s revolutionary historical relic site in Krong commune…Villages and communities also contain tangible and intangible cultural heritage such as gongs, festivals, communal houses, tombs, folk songs, epics…

The festival marks the return of tourism activities in the district along with the prosperity of the country’s tourism industry after 3 years of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The festival is an opportunity for Kbang district to promote and promote the district’s potential, advantages, intangible cultural values, resources and unique tourism products to friends and tourists; create motivation for economic and social development in the area.
