The Week for Connecting Vietnamese agricultural cuisine to foreign diplomatic agencies

(TITC) – On 27th October, in Hanoi, Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held the opening ceremony of Week for Introducing and Connecting Vietnamese agricultural cuisine to the system of diplomatic agencies and foreign counsellors in Vietnam.

Attending the event were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of El Salvador to Vietnam, representatives of embassies of the United Kingdom, Russia, Algeria, Panama, Belarus, Indonesia and South Africa in Vietnam.

 

The Week for Introducing and Connecting Vietnamese agricultural cuisine to the system of diplomatic agencies and foreign counsellors in Vietnam is an important event in the series of tasks of the national target program to build new rural areas in 2023. The main theme is traditional fish sauce and fish sauce products and typical regional dishes using traditional fish sauce. The program will promote and propagate messages about history, product stories, production process chains of fish sauce products, cuisine from Vietnamese fish sauce to consumers to help raise awareness and preserve traditions and typical cultural features of Vietnam to domestic and foreign tourists. Also, the week contributes to promoting trade, connecting supply and demand of traditional fish sauce products and cuisine from fish sauce.

With over 1000m2, the Week has main spaces to display and introduce traditional fish sauce products and Vietnamese spices; space to introduce cuisine, typical local dishes associated with traditional fish sauce products.

The OCOP “One Commune One Product” programme, launched in 2018, has awakened the potential of land, products, comparative advantages, especially regional cultural values. Many OCOP products have contributed to conveying humanistic product stories of the region, contributing to promoting the direction of livelihood development and preserving traditional occupations and unique cultures.

Through this activity, combining promotion and connection of consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products through culture and cuisine will create an effective and strong impression on domestic and foreign consumers.
