The second event of OCOP products and An Giang province’s specialties accompanying consumers in 2023 takes place from November 16-19, 2023. There are over 70 booths of OCOP subjects and OCOP potentials, specialties of An Giang province and other provinces and cities with many rich and diverse goods, in categories and quality participating. The event attracts businesses from 12 provinces and cities: An Giang, Lao Cai, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap to display typical local OCOP products.
The display area is divided into 6 areas designed to be airy so that visitors can easily move around: The province’s OCOP product area has 40 booths; The area for handicrafts and agricultural specialties has 30 booths; The food court has 06 booths (focusing on promoting dishes that have been recognized by record organizations). The display space for OCOP products, craft village products and local agricultural products has an area of 100m2; Street music performance stage, game show organization; Mini scenes.

Participating products are OCOP-centric products combined with handicrafts (products that have not been recognized as OCOP products); agricultural specialty products. The product list must be approved by the appraisal council.
Through the event, the aim is to introduce OCOP products, specialty products, start-up products, craft village products, handicrafts, souvenirs, tourism products – services and cuisine through the form of giving. trial, actual product experience, promotions and gratitude gifts for customers and consumers. At the same time, to create conditions to support businesses in order to restore production and consumption of products, develop business and promote products and brands, especially products of An Giang province to consumers inside and outside the province. At the same time, to introduce the images and cultural characteristics of An Giang through unique culinary culture, traditional dishes and folk cakes,… to many people and tourists. Combining market demand surveys and customer taste surveys to support units in perfecting and developing products to be competitive in today’s market.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Center of An Giang province said: Within the framework of the event, there will also be many activities: Display space for OCOP products, craft village products and local agricultural products, training class on writing and presenting product stories for OCOP subjects, area for promoting An Giang province’s specialty dishes that set world records, conference culinary contest on the Unique Flavors of An Giang, gameshow to learn about OCOP products, nightly street performances…
The OCOP program has received the attention and direction of localities and the participation of the entire political system from province to grassroots, especially the role of provincial departments, branches and organizations. Through that, localities have seen the potentials and strengths to have appropriate policies and solutions to develop OCOP products, especially preserving and developing local traditional industries. To date, the entire An Giang province has 71 products that have achieved OCOP certification of 3 stars or higher. The second event of OCOP products and specialties of An Giang province accompanying consumers in 2023 creates a highlight for OCOP products and OCOP potentials inside and outside the province to have a meaningful playground and an opportunity for OCOP subjects of An Giang province research, learn and study packaging and labels of businesses in provinces and cities. I believe that at this event, businesses will continue to reap many successes, sign many new contracts, and expand business cooperation in the coming time between businesses to develop the market.
